FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!

This was from a few weeks ago, it was the first time Johnny had been on a skateboard in over a month.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! -- well, almost...
Here is Johnny and Kathleen Hemmen this morning, she is also his tutor at home.

Since Johnny's counts have been good for awhile, we decided it might be okay if he tried a few days of school before it all came to an end next week. He was very reluctant when we discussed it on Monday, but Tuesday morning when the alarm went off, he was right behind Joey -- so I knew he was ready. Of course this morning he didn't want to do it (I think just to be difficult, imagine that!), but I told him it was only going to be for half a day.

I dropped him off at 8am, took a few photos, and left. I picked him up at 11:30, after recess, but before lunch. He had a great time, he will do it for the rest of the week if he's up for it -- I know I am! I still worry about germs, he has mouth sores right now, which usually leads to illness with him -- but as long as his counts stay high I think he will be okay. I will keep you posted on his progress...

Hey, Jules and Mikey! Just wanted to touch base and let you know that you're in my thoughts, as always. Here's hoping that the move to Galveston is as smooth as possible and that a summer at the shore does you all good. Incidentally, I sent several friends' kids First Communion and Confirmation cards this spring, and afterward, I had this sinking feeling that I mixed a couple up in the envelopes. So, if Johnny got a confirmation card instead of a First Communion card, please forgive me!

Stay in touch, and let me know your mailing address in Galveston. Love you, cy
