Big Drop

The results of Johnny's 10p labs just came back and his WBC is down to 50!  That is less than half of what it was this morning.  I am both very relieved, and more than a little surprised.  Johnny looks like crap.  I think it's the bleeding gums that are throwing me off, but he doesn't look like a kid who is heading in the right direction.  It appears that in this case looks may be deceiving.   As he is loosing white cells, he is also burning up platelets.  He will need another transfusion tonight since his platelet count has dropped from 57 this morning to 13 this evening.  That could explain some of the leaky gums and nose bleeds.  Thanks again to everyone who is donating blood and platelets for Johnny.  They definitely won't go to waist.
