Busy Day

Johnny had both a spinal tap and ultrasound scheduled for today.  The ultrasound was to check his kidney and liver, and everything seems to be ok.  Johnny's liver chemistry is elevated, but it doesn't look like the chemo and meds have done any real damage.  The high numbers could be a reason for all the nausea though.  The spinal tap went very smoothly.  Because Johnny had been sick to his stomach all morning Dr Kilbourne decided to do the procedure in the ICU in case there were any complications.  Nothing happened though, and Johnny handled the sedation well.  Although we won't have the results of the LP until tomorrow I do know that there was only one white cell found during the preliminary check.  When they spin it down they could find more, but it looks like a lot less than last time.  If none of the white cells found are blasts then the LP is deemed "clean", and Johnny will only have to have two more.  Regardless he will have another LP on Thursday.

Today started at about 3am this morning with nausea, and has been going pretty much non-stop.  I'm hoping Johnny will sleep through till morning.  Me too.

Mike and Jules,
Spent the evening with a group of friends I'm doing a Bible study with, and we prayed for Johnny's healing and your strength and peace. These folks have had Johnny's name on their lips in prayer since the day I first shared his story with them, and they continue to faithfully lift him--and you--up in prayer daily. Wish it were possible for you to feel the love and concern that surrounds you...maybe you do...just know that you are loved, and so is your precious boy. Waiting for good news on the LP and a quick trip to marrow transplant...meanwhile, hugs to all...cy
