Small Improvements...Maybe

Johnny WBC continues to trend downward.  His last lab was in the 70s.  The doctors thing the lab from yesterday morning was wrong, and that his WBC was still in the 100s, and not in the 60s.  Johnny finally woke up last night around 11p.  We watched a couple of surf movies, and then he watched TV for a while.  That was the longest he has stayed awake in two days.  He was given Albumin (sp?) which helps pull some of the fluid out of tissue, and lasics last night, so he was able to get rid of some of his extra fluid.  He is still very puffy, but he is starting to look a little better.  The swelling on his temples and scalp has gone down some.  His heart rate is down some, and he seems to be breathing better without the help of oxygen.  He is also talking in his sleep a little less.  I know I'm probably looking for improvements everywhere, but he does seem a little better this morning.  At this point thing change by the hour, both for the better and the worse, so I will update later.

Dear Johnny,

I dont know you, but i really hope you get well as quickly as possible.

Please pull through all of this so you can get back on your board.

You inspire me and i always think about you whenever i think stuff sucks for me, like getting hurt, having a "bad day", etc.

I look at you and think, Wow.. What a trooper.

Anyways, your in our thoughts and prayers everyday and i hope when you pull through all of this, you go shred the new Potrero park in the bay.

I went there a few weeks back and its sick!

Alright man, take care and hang in there! Hopefully ill see you around one day skating.

Peace,

-Brent

Caiden just reminded me of this prayer that we had him say every morning and every night when we were in the hospital when he transplanted.
Pray this prayer: I command my blood cells to destroy every germ and virus that tries to inhabit my body. I command every cell of my body to be normal in JESUS name.
When Caiden was to weak or tired to say this prayer Vince and I said it together over him. Even now when Caiden is weak he says this prayer. I believe if we know in our hearts that they we beat this, that they will come out strong, they will. God has a special plan for our boys.

Love

Hi Julie and Mike.
This is your cousin Stephen Melia, I probably have not seen you guys since the last big Colonnetta reunion. I just wanted you to know that we are praying for Johnny. I regret to admit that until our trip to Houston last month, I have not been in the loop with his recent battle. I just finished reading your Blog and I know that you have the Faith and strength that Johnny needs to make it through. You are not alone; God is with you every step of the way. I hope to make it back to Houston at the end of September for the benefit in Galveston. I look forward to meeting Johnny. Keep your spirits high and your Faith strong.
Prayers from Arkansas,
Love, Stephen
