Welcome to Johnny's Blog. Just because Johnny has passed doesn't mean he lost the battle against cancer, Mike and I are not only going to continue the battle but we will also WIN! GAME ON cancer!

ABOUT A BOY
You can now read the full story titled 'About A Boy', in Texas Monthly online at: http://bit.ly/wepbY
Michael Hall did a wonderful job, we are very pleased to say the least.
I think it's a solid piece all the way around -- story, video, photos -- Texas Monthly covered it all.

I had the honor today to read Johnny's story in Texas Monthly and was humbled and so proud of him. He was such a strong and passionate young boy. I'm 41, not into skating (but did as a kid!), so I didn't know of his story until today. However, I'll never forget him now. God bless y'all and stay strong.
I just read Johnny's story in Texas Monthly and also watched the video and was so moved by it. I'm so sorry for your family's loss, but also happy for you that you got to have the time you did with such a special kid. I won't forget his story.
Today is October 18th, 2010... I have had my September 2010 copy of Texas Monthly on my desk for better than a month and have, only just today, opened it for the first time. It wasn't the vision of Colt McCoy on the cover that made me pick it up, but the title to Johnny's story that caught my eye. I am a 46 year old man, and like Brandon, just above, said...I am not a "Skater", but was when I was a kid.
As I read into the story of Johhny Ramano, I began to see my own son, who is today, a healthy 11 year old boy. The further I got into Johnny's story the more I began to realize how easy it is to take, not only our own lives for granted, but the days, hours, and minutes of our children's lives for granted. As I finished reading, and began typing in Johnny's name into search engines, I couldn't keep from, not only weeping, but flat out balling.
That young man, your amazing son, was and is the most encouraging and selfless story of bravery, determination, and outright fortitude I have ever heard in my life!
These words of mine are nothing you and your family haven't heard before, but I just wanted you to know that Johnny Ramano and his family are still touching total strangers and that his story is still reaching out.
May God bless and keep you both, Joey and Sophie!
...and if I have ever missed anything in my own son, Johnny's story has given me a new set of eyes...thank you. john
